Plane Song

Written for the Carpe Diem Challenge #53: write a Tan Renga.

Tan Renga is a two stanza poem with 5-7-5 and 7-7 syllables (5-7-5-7-7).  Unlike a Tanka written by one poet, Tan Renga is written by two.  Poet One writes the  5-7-5 and Poet Two completes 7-7.

11 OCT CARPE DIEM HAIKU KAI PROMPT:

Oliana’s “flying home”

power-driven fowl
in rays of a setting sun
flies home…………….(Oliana of Traces of the Soul)

My completion:

power-driven fowl

in rays of setting sun

flies home

gliding with feathered trim

into the deepening night.

dark

    I like the completion, John!
I must admit, LOL, I did not recognize the “plane”, when I first completed my Tan Renga — I am not sure I would change the ending two lines either way!!
